Sweet Shyly II

*munkyhaus, aka Brad Miller, the photographer who shot this and whose devious little mind came up with the concept, is the only person I can think of for whom I'd be willing to be the circus fat lady. That's because his book in the making, "Strange Girls," gives a glimpse of side show "freaks" in a way that is sometimes sweet, funny, creepy, compelling, sensual - but always very human. Even at their freakiest, his strange girls are real people. And, given that my project is to invite people to stop seeing fat folks as less than human, our aims mesh quite well.

In my case, we specifically wanted to evoke the same vibe that you could find in old fat lady trading cards. (You can see more of this here, with the first image we did.) This is a more behind the scenes glimpse, the sensual fat lady lounging in her tent after the show. This fat lady isn't ashamed or embarrassed or even very objectified by what she does. She just is who she is.

And she has really fucking awesome curls.
